1-5절은 시편 57:7-11에, 6-13절은 시편 60:5-12에 해당합니다. 시인은 옛 시를 가져와 오늘 위기에 맞닥뜨린 자신의 노래로 다시 부릅니다. 

[ 시편 108:1 - 108:13 ] (찬송393장)

1하나님이여 내 마음을 정하였사오니 내가 노래하며 나의 마음을 다하여 찬양하리로다 2비파야, 수금아, 깰지어다 내가 새벽을 깨우리로다 3여호와여 내가 만민 중에서 주께 감사하고 뭇 나라 중에서 주를 찬양하오리니 4주의 인자하심이 하늘보다 높으시며 주의 진실은 궁창에까지 이르나이다 5하나님이여 주는 하늘 위에 높이 들리시며 주의 영광이 온 땅에서 높임 받으시기를 원하나이다

 6주께서 사랑하시는 자들을 건지시기 위하여 우리에게 응답하사 오른손으로 구원하소서 7하나님이 그의 성소에서 말씀하시되 내가 기뻐하리라 내가 세겜을 나누며 숙곳 골짜기를 측량하리라 8길르앗이 내 것이요 므낫세도 내 것이며 에브라임은 내 머리의 투구요 유다는 나의 규이며 9모압은 내 목욕통이라 에돔에는 내 신발을 벗어 던질지며 블레셋 위에서 내가 외치리라 하셨도다

A Song. A Psalm of David.1 My heart is steadfast, O God! I will sing and make melody with all my being!2 Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn!3 I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations.4 For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth!6 That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer me!7 God has promised in his holiness: “With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Valley of Succoth.8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter.9 Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I cast my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph.”10 Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?11 Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go out, O God, with our armies.12 Oh grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man!13 With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes.    

Who is God like?

Thinking & Understanding

The psalmist chooses to praise God in the middle of his dire situation. Although he is going through hard times, he longs for God’s fame to spread throughout the earth and rise higher than the heavens (vv. 1-5). The psalmist asks God for deliverance because his army has lost the war against Edom. They had been defeated because God had not been with them. The psalmist confesses that salvation is not in man but in God alone. He confidently sings that God will give him victory (vv. 6-13).

위급한 상황에 맞닥뜨린 시인은 먼저 하나님을 찬양하기로 마음을 정합니다. 시인의 상황은 혼란스러웠지만, 그 와중에도 하나님의 명성이 온 땅에 퍼지고 하늘보다 높이 솟기를 열망합니다(1-5절). 이어서 시인은 하나님께 구원을 간구하는데, 자신의 군대가 에돔과의 전쟁에서 졌기 때문입니다. 패배의 원인은 하나님의 부재(不在)였습니다. 시인은 구원이 사람에게 있지 않고, 오직 하나님께만 있음을 고백하며 하나님이 승리하게 하실 것을 확신하며 노래합니다(6-13절).

What lesson is God teaching me?

Vv. 3-5 The psalmist resolves to exalt and praise God among all peoples and nations. From heaven, God will scoff at the heathen nations that exalt themselves. If I look at myself and think only of my desires, the long night of suffering will never end; but if I trust in God and sing of His mercy, the dawn will soon break.

시인은 만민과 뭇 나라 중에서 하나님을 높이며 찬양하겠다고 결심합니다. 이방 나라들이 스스로를 높이며 기고만장하지만, 하나님은 하늘 위에 서서 그들을 조롱하실 것입니다. 나 자신만 보고 내 욕심만 생각하면 깊고 긴 밤이 끝나지 않습니다. 그러나 하나님을 신뢰하고 그분의 인자하심을 노래하면 곧 새벽이 동터올 것입니다.

Vv. 10-13 When your life is at stake, you must rely on God, not man. To rely on God means to keep the statutes God has laid out. When you encounter a crisis, pray and follow the path God has laid out for you. 

삶이 위태로울 때 사람이 아닌 하나님을 의지해야 합니다. 하나님을 의지한다는 것은 하나님이 제시하신 삶의 규칙을 지키는 것을 말합니다. 위기를 만났습니까? 기도하며 하나님이 제시하신 길로 가십시오.

Lord, direct my heart to praise you and help me confidently go forth on the path you have set before me.
