시인은 하나님의 구원을 경험한 사람들을 초청하여 하나님께 감사와 찬양을 드리라고 권하면서 하나님이 베푸신 구원의 다양한 면모를 노래합니다. 

[ 시편 107:1 - 107:22 ] (찬송391장)

1여호와께 감사하라 그는 선하시며 그 인자하심이 영원함이로다 2여호와의 속량을 받은 자들은 이같이 말할지어다 여호와께서 대적의 손에서 그들을 속량하사 3동서 남북 각 지방에서부터 모으셨도다

 4그들이 광야 사막 길에서 방황하며 거주할 성읍을 찾지 못하고 5주리고 목이 말라 그들의 영혼이 그들 안에서 피곤하였도다 6이에 그들이 근심 중에 여호와께 부르짖으매 그들의 고통에서 건지시고 7또 바른 길로 인도하사 거주할 성읍에 이르게 하셨도다 8여호와의 인자하심과 인생에게 행하신 기적으로 말미암아 그를 찬송할지로다 9그가 사모하는 영혼에게 만족을 주시며 주린 영혼에게 좋은 것으로 채워주심이로다

 10사람이 흑암과 사망의 그늘에 앉으며 곤고와 쇠사슬에 매임은 11하나님의 말씀을 거역하며 지존자의 뜻을 멸시함이라 12그러므로 그가 고통을 주어 그들의 마음을 겸손하게 하셨으니 그들이 엎드러져도 돕는 자가 없었도다 13이에 그들이 그 환난 중에 여호와께 부르짖으매 그들의 고통에서 구원하시되 14흑암과 사망의 그늘에서 인도하여 내시고 그들의 얽어 맨 줄을 끊으셨도다 15여호와의 인자하심과 인생에게 행하신 기적으로 말미암아 그를 찬송할지로다 16그가 놋문을 깨뜨리시며 쇠빗장을 꺾으셨음이로다

 17미련한 자들은 그들의 죄악의 길을 따르고 그들의 악을 범하기 때문에 고난을 받아 18그들은 그들의 모든 음식물을 싫어하게 되어 사망의 문에 이르렀도다 19이에 그들이 그들의 고통 때문에 여호와께 부르짖으매 그가 그들의 고통에서 그들을 구원하시되 20그가 그의 말씀을 보내어 그들을 고치시고 위험한 지경에서 건지시는도다 21여호와의 인자하심과 인생에게 행하신 기적으로 말미암아 그를 찬송할지로다 22감사제를 드리며 노래하여 그가 행하신 일을 선포할지로다

1Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble3 and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.4 Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in;5 hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them.6 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.7 He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in.8 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!9 For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.10 Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and in irons,11 for they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High.12 So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help.13 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart.15 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!16 For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron.17 Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction;18 they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death.19 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.20 He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.21 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love,  for his wondrous works to the children of man!22 And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! 

Thinking & Understanding

The psalmist invites those who are saved by God to praise and give thanks to Him. God’s salvation is about setting people who went astray on the right path (vv. 1-9). Salvation can be described as an image of a proud person who ignored God’s will and was suffering in prison. When he humbled himself before God, God set him free. Salvation can also be described as a person who had been sentenced to death for rebelling. But then he turns from his sins and God saves and brings him back to life. All these images of salvation begin with a cry to God in the midst of suffering (vv. 10-19).

시인은 하나님께 구원받은 사람들을 불러 하나님을 찬양하고 하나님께 감사드리라고 초대합니다. 하나님의 구원은 길 잃은 사람을 바른길로 인도하시는 것입니다(1-9절). 하나님의 구원은 교만하여 하나님의 뜻을 무시하다가 감옥에서 고통을 겪는 사람이 하나님 앞에서 마음을 낮추면 다시 꺼내주시는 것입니다. 하나님의 구원은 반역과 죄악으로 죽음에 이르는 형벌을 받은 사람이 죄를 돌이키면 고치시고 살려주시는 것입니다. 이 구원은 모두 고난 가운데서 하나님께 부르짖음으로 시작됩니다(10-19절).

Who is God?

Vv. 6, 13, 19 God saves us when we cry out in distress. Even if your suffering was self-inflicted due to your sins and transgressions, if you are truly repentant and appeal to God, He will hear you and deliver you. What is keeping you from praying to God? God is waiting to hear from you.

고난 속에서 부르짖을 때 구원하십니다. 비록 자기 죄와 허물로 고통을 자초했더라도 진심으로 뉘우치고 호소하면 듣고 건져주십니다. 어떤 이유로 하나님께 기도하지 못하고 있습니까? 하나님은 들으려고 기다리십니다.

What lesson is God teaching me?

Vv. 4, 11, 17 The states of ignorance, pride, and rebellion are all conditions that require God’s salvation. Ignorance of the true way starves the heart; pride leads to suffering; rebellion leads to death. What state or condition am I in? Have I received the salvation that comes from God and helps me become a man or woman of knowledge, humility, and obedience?

무지, 교만, 반역 모두 하나님의 구원이 필요한 상태입니다. 참 길을 모르면 그 심령이 굶주리고, 교만하여 제멋대로 살면 고통과 사슬에 매이고, 반역하면 죽음에 이릅니다. 내 상태는 어떠합니까? 지식과 겸손과 순종의 사람이 되는 구원을 받았습니까?
