유다 왕 아사랴는 선정을 베풀며 오랜 기간 통치했으나 말년에 나병에 걸립니다. 북이스라엘에선 역모와 반역으로 왕조가 전복되는 피의 역사가 이어집니다. 

[ 열왕기하 15:1 - 15:22 ] (찬송543장)

1이스라엘 왕 여로보암 제이십칠년에 유다 왕 아마샤의 아들 아사랴가 왕이 되니 2그가 왕이 될 때에 나이가 십육 세라 예루살렘에서 오십이 년간 다스리니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 여골리야라 예루살렘 사람이더라 3아사랴가 그의 아버지 아마샤의 모든 행위대로 여호와 보시기에 정직히 행하였으나 4오직 산당은 제거하지 아니하였으므로 백성이 여전히 그 산당에서 제사를 드리며 분향하였고 5여호와께서 왕을 치셨으므로 그가 죽는 날까지 나병환자가 되어 별궁에 거하고 왕자 요담이 왕궁을 다스리며 그 땅의 백성을 치리하였더라 6아사랴의 남은 사적과 행한 모든 일은 유다 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐 7아사랴가 그의 조상들과 함께 자매 다윗 성에 그의 조상들과 함께 장사되고 그의 아들 요담이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

 8유다의 왕 아사랴의 제삼십팔년에 여로보암의 아들 스가랴가 사마리아에서 여섯 달 동안 이스라엘을 다스리며 9그의 조상들의 행위대로 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 이스라엘로 범죄하게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄에서 떠나지 아니한지라 10야베스의 아들 살룸이 그를 반역하여 백성 앞에서 쳐죽이고 대신하여 왕이 되니라 11스가랴의 남은 사적은 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되니라 12여호와께서 예후에게 말씀하여 이르시기를 네 자손이 사 대 동안 이스라엘 왕위에 있으리라 하신 그 말씀대로 과연 그렇게 되니라

 13유다 왕 웃시야 제삼십구년에 야베스의 아들 살룸이 사마리아에서 왕이 되어 한 달 동안 다스리니라 14가디의 아들 므나헴이 디르사에서부터 사마리아로 올라가서 야베스의 아들 살룸을 거기에서 쳐죽이고 대신하여 왕이 되니라 15살룸의 남은 사적과 그가 반역한 일은 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되니라 16그 때에 므나헴이 디르사에서 와서 딥사와 그 가운데에 있는 모든 사람과 그 사방을 쳤으니 이는 그들이 성문을 열지 아니하였음이라 그러므로 그들이 그 곳을 치고 그 가운데에 아이 밴 부녀를 갈랐더라

 17유다 왕 아사랴 제삼십구년에 가디의 아들 므나헴이 이스라엘 왕이 되어 사마리아에서 십 년간 다스리며 18여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 이스라엘로 범죄하게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄에서 평생 떠나지 아니하였더라 19앗수르 왕 불이 와서 그 땅을 치려 하매 므나헴이 은 천 달란트를 불에게 주어서 그로 자기를 도와 주게 함으로 나라를 자기 손에 굳게 세우고자 하여 20그 은을 이스라엘 모든 큰 부자에게서 강탈하여 각 사람에게 은 오십 세겔씩 내게 하여 앗수르 왕에게 주었더니 이에 앗수르 왕이 되돌아가 그 땅에 머물지 아니하였더라 21므나헴의 남은 사적과 그가 행한 모든 일은 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐 22므나헴이 그의 조상들과 함께 자고 그의 아들 브가히야가 대신하여 왕이 되니라

[ 2 Kings 15:1 - 15:22 ]

1In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah the son of Amaziah, king of Judah, began to reign.2 He was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.3 And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.4 Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places.5 And the LORD touched the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and he lived in a separate house. And Jotham the king's son was over the household, governing the people of the land.6 Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?7 And Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David, and Jotham his son reigned in his place.8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria six months.9 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin.10 Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him and struck him down at Ibleam and put him to death and reigned in his place.11 Now the rest of the deeds of Zechariah, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.12 (This was the promise of the LORD that he gave to Jehu, “Your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.” And so it came to pass.)13 Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, and he reigned one month in Samaria.14 Then Menahem the son of Gadi came up from Tirzah and came to Samaria, and he struck down Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria and put him to death and reigned in his place.15 Now the rest of the deeds of Shallum, and the conspiracy that he made, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.16 At that time Menahem sacked Tiphsah and all who were in it and its territory from Tirzah on, because they did not open it to him. Therefore he sacked it, and he ripped open all the women in it who were pregnant.17 In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem the son of Gadi began to reign over Israel, and he reigned ten years in Samaria.18 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD. He did not depart all his days from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin.19 Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that he might help him to confirm his hold on the royal power.20 Menahem exacted the money from Israel, that is, from all the wealthy men, fifty shekels of silver from every man, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back and did not stay there in the land.21 Now the rest of the deeds of Menahem and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?22 And Menahem slept with his fathers, and Pekahiah his son reigned in his place.
