본문의 중심내용

하나님은 자신이 이스라엘 백성 가운데 거할 성소인 성막을 지으라고 명령하십니다. 먼저 성막에 필요한 모든 재료를 일러 주시고, 이어서 증거궤와 속죄소의 재료와 모양을 설명해 주십니다.

성소를 지을 예물 

1여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되 2이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 내게 예물을 가져오라 하고 기쁜 마음으로 내는 자가 내게 바치는 모든 것을 너희는 받을지니라 3너희가 그들에게서 받을 예물은 이러하니 금과 은과 놋과 4청색 자색 홍색 실과 가는 베 실과 염소 털과 5붉은 물 들인 숫양의 가죽과 해달의 가죽과 조각목과 6등유와 관유에 드는 향료와 분향할 향을 만들 향품과 7호마노며 에봇과 흉패에 물릴 보석이니라

 성소의 목적과 건설 원리 

 8내가 그들 중에 거할 성소를 그들이 나를 위하여 짓되 9무릇 내가 네게 보이는 모양대로 장막을 짓고 기구들도 그 모양을 따라 지을지니라

 증거궤에 관한 지시 

 10그들은 조각목으로 궤를 짜되 길이는 두 규빗 반, 너비는 한 규빗 반, 높이는 한 규빗 반이 되게 하고 11너는 순금으로 그것을 싸되 그 안팎을 싸고 위쪽 가장자리로 돌아가며 금 테를 두르고 12금 고리 넷을 부어 만들어 그 네 발에 달되 이쪽에 두 고리 저쪽에 두 고리를 달며 13조각목으로 채를 만들어 금으로 싸고 14그 채를 궤 양쪽 고리에 꿰어서 궤를 메게 하며 15채를 궤의 고리에 꿴 대로 두고 빼내지 말지며 16내가 네게 줄 증거판을 궤 속에 둘지며

 속죄소에 관한 지시 

 17순금으로 속죄소를 만들되 길이는 두 규빗 반, 너비는 한 규빗 반이 되게 하고 18금으로 그룹 둘을 속죄소 두 끝에 쳐서 만들되 19한 그룹은 이 끝에, 또 한 그룹은 저 끝에 곧 속죄소 두 끝에 속죄소와 한 덩이로 연결할지며 20그룹들은 그 날개를 높이 펴서 그 날개로 속죄소를 덮으며 그 얼굴을 서로 대하여 속죄소를 향하게 하고 21속죄소를 궤 위에 얹고 내가 네게 줄 증거판을 궤 속에 넣으라 22거기서 내가 너와 만나고 속죄소 위 곧 증거궤 위에 있는 두 그룹 사이에서 내가 이스라엘 자손을 위하여 네게 명령할 모든 일을 네게 이르리라

10절) ‘조각목’(히. 쉿팀)은 견고하고 내구성이 강하여 벌레가 갉아 먹지 못한다. 성경의 다른 곳에는 히브리어 발음대로 싯딤 나무(아카시아 나무)라고 번역되어 있다. 우리나라에 흔한 아카시아 나무와 다르다.

17절) ‘속죄소’의 히브리어 ‘카포레트’는 ‘덮다, 속죄하다’를 의미하는 ‘카파르’의 명사형이다.

18절) ‘그룹’은 에덴동산을 지키는 파수꾼 천사(창 3:24)로서, 날개를 펴서 언약궤를 덮는 모습으로 조각되어 하나님의 현존을 나타낸다(삼상 4:4; 시 80:1).

1The LORD said to Moses,2 “Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me.3 And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze,4 blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, goats’ hair,5 tanned rams’ skins, goatskins, acacia wood,6 oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,7 onyx stones, and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.8 And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.9 Exactly as I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it.10 “They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.11 You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and outside shall you overlay it, and you shall make on it a molding of gold around it.12 You shall cast four rings of gold for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it.13 You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.14 And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark by them.15 The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it.16 And you shall put into the ark the testimony that I shall give you.17 “You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth.18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat.19 Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends.20 The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be.21 And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you.22 There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.
