이스라엘 지도자 중 재판장이 따를 규범입니다. 재판장은 공의를 따라 하나님과 이웃에 대한 죄를 철저히 조사하여 엄격하게 판단해야 합니다. 

[ 신명기 16:18 - 17:13 ] (찬송77장)

18네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 주시는 각 성에서 네 지파를 따라 재판장들과 지도자들을 둘 것이요 그들은 공의로 백성을 재판할 것이니라 19너는 재판을 굽게 하지 말며 사람을 외모로 보지 말며 또 뇌물을 받지 말라 뇌물은 지혜자의 눈을 어둡게 하고 의인의 말을 굽게 하느니라 20너는 마땅히 공의만을 따르라 그리하면 네가 살겠고 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 주시는 땅을 차지하리라

 21네 하나님 여호와를 위하여 쌓은 제단 곁에 어떤 나무로든지 아세라 상을 세우지 말며 22자기를 위하여 주상을 세우지 말라 네 하나님 여호와께서 미워하시느니라  

 17:1흠이나 악질이 있는 소와 양은 아무것도 네 하나님 여호와께 드리지 말지니 이는 네 하나님 여호와께 가증한 것이 됨이니라

 2네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 주시는 어느 성중에서든지 너희 가운데에 어떤 남자나 여자가 네 하나님 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하여 그 언약을 어기고 3가서 다른 신들을 섬겨 그것에게 절하며 내가 명령하지 아니한 일월성신에게 절한다 하자 4그것이 네게 알려지므로 네가 듣거든 자세히 조사해 볼지니 만일 그 일과 말이 확실하여 이스라엘 중에 이런 가증한 일을 행함이 있으면 5너는 그 악을 행한 남자나 여자를 네 성문으로 끌어내고 그 남자나 여자를 돌로 쳐죽이되 6죽일 자를 두 사람이나 세 사람의 증언으로 죽일 것이요 한 사람의 증언으로는 죽이지 말 것이며 7이런 자를 죽이기 위하여는 증인이 먼저 그에게 손을 댄 후에 뭇 백성이 손을 댈지니라 너는 이와 같이 하여 너희 중에서 악을 제할지니라

 8네 성중에서 서로 피를 흘렸거나 다투었거나 구타하였거나 서로 간에 고소하여 네가 판결하기 어려운 일이 생기거든 너는 일어나 네 하나님 여호와께서 택하실 곳으로 올라가서 9레위 사람 제사장과 당시 재판장에게 나아가서 물으라 그리하면 그들이 어떻게 판결할지를 네게 가르치리니 10여호와께서 택하신 곳에서 그들이 네게 보이는 판결의 뜻대로 네가 행하되 그들이 네게 가르치는 대로 삼가 행할 것이니 11곧 그들이 네게 가르치는 율법의 뜻대로, 그들이 네게 말하는 판결대로 행할 것이요 그들이 네게 보이는 판결을 어겨 좌로나 우로나 치우치지 말 것이니라 12사람이 만일 무법하게 행하고 네 하나님 여호와 앞에 서서 섬기는 제사장이나 재판장에게 듣지 아니하거든 그 사람을 죽여 이스라엘 중에서 악을 제하여 버리라 13그리하면 온 백성이 듣고 두려워하여 다시는 무법하게 행하지 아니하리라

[ Deuteronomy 16:18 - 17:13 ]

18“You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.19 You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous.20 Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the LORD your God is giving you.21 “You shall not plant any tree as an Asherah beside the altar of the LORD your God that you shall make.22 And you shall not set up a pillar, which the LORD your God hates.1 “You shall not sacrifice to the LORD your God an ox or a sheep in which is a blemish, any defect whatever, for that is an abomination to the LORD your God.2 “If there is found among you, within any of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, a man or woman who does what is evil in the sight of the LORD your God, in transgressing his covenant,3 and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have forbidden,4 and it is told you and you hear of it, then you shall inquire diligently, and if it is true and certain that such an abomination has been done in Israel,5 then you shall bring out to your gates that man or woman who has done this evil thing, and you shall stone that man or woman to death with stones.6 On the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses the one who is to die shall be put to death; a person shall not be put to death on the evidence of one witness.7 The hand of the witnesses shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.8 “If any case arises requiring decision between one kind of homicide and another, one kind of legal right and another, or one kind of assault and another, any case within your towns that is too difficult for you, then you shall arise and go up to the place that the LORD your God will choose.9 And you shall come to the Levitical priests and to the judge who is in office in those days, and you shall consult them, and they shall declare to you the decision.10 Then you shall do according to what they declare to you from that place that the LORD will choose. And you shall be careful to do according to all that they direct you.11 According to the instructions that they give you, and according to the decision which they pronounce to you, you shall do. You shall not turn aside from the verdict that they declare to you, either to the right hand or to the left.12 The man who acts presumptuously by not obeying the priest who stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or the judge, that man shall die. So you shall purge the evil from Israel.13 And all the people shall hear and fear and not act presumptuously again.
