요시야에 이어 왕이 된 여호아하스는 석 달 만에 애굽으로 잡혀가고, 애굽 왕 느고의 내정 간섭으로 여호야김이 유다의 새 왕이 됩니다.

31여호아하스가 왕이 될 때에 나이가 이십삼 세라 예루살렘에서 석 달간 다스리니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 하무달이라 립나 예레미야의 딸이더라 32여호아하스가 그의 조상들의 모든 행위대로 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였더니 33바로 느고가 그를 하맛 땅 리블라에 가두어 예루살렘에서 왕이 되지 못하게 하고 또 그 나라로 은 백 달란트와 금 한 달란트를 벌금으로 내게 하고 34바로 느고가 요시야의 아들 엘리아김을 그의 아버지 요시야를 대신하여 왕으로 삼고 그의 이름을 고쳐 여호야김이라 하고 여호아하스는 애굽으로 잡아갔더니 그가 거기서 죽으니라 35여호야김이 은과 금을 바로에게 주니라 그가 바로 느고의 명령대로 그에게 그 돈을 주기 위하여 나라에 부과하되 백성들 각 사람의 힘대로 액수를 정하고 은금을 징수하였더라 36여호야김이 왕이 될 때에 나이가 이십오 세라 예루살렘에서 십일 년간 다스리니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 스비다라 루마 브다야의 딸이더라 37여호야김이 그의 조상들이 행한 모든 일을 따라서 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였더라

 24:1여호야김 시대에 바벨론의 왕 느부갓네살이 올라오매 여호야김이 삼 년간 섬기다가 돌아서 그를 배반하였더니 2여호와께서 그의 종 선지자들을 통하여 하신 말씀과 같이 갈대아의 부대와 아람의 부대와 모압의 부대와 암몬 자손의 부대를 여호야김에게로 보내 유다를 쳐 멸하려 하시니 3이 일이 유다에 임함은 곧 여호와의 말씀대로 그들을 자기 앞에서 물리치고자 하심이니 이는 므낫세의 지은 모든 죄 때문이며 4또 그가 무죄한 자의 피를 흘려 그의 피가 예루살렘에 가득하게 하였음이라 여호와께서 사하시기를 즐겨하지 아니하시니라

 5여호야김의 남은 사적과 행한 모든 일은 유다 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐 6여호야김이 그의 조상들과 함께 자매 그의 아들 여호야긴이 대신하여 왕이 되니라 7애굽 왕이 다시는 그 나라에서 나오지 못하였으니 이는 바벨론 왕이 애굽 강에서부터 유브라데 강까지 애굽 왕에게 속한 땅을 다 점령하였음이더라

31Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.32 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.33 And Pharaoh Neco put him in bonds at Riblah in the land of Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem, and laid on the land a tribute of a hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.34 And Pharaoh Neco made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of Josiah his father, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. But he took Jehoahaz away, and he came to Egypt and died there.35 And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh, but he taxed the land to give the money according to the command of Pharaoh. He exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, from everyone according to his assessment, to give it to Pharaoh Neco.36 Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Zebidah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.37 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.1 In his days, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.2 And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldeans and bands of the Syrians and bands of the Moabites and bands of the Ammonites, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD that he spoke by his servants the prophets.3 Surely this came upon Judah at the command of the LORD, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done,4 and also for the innocent blood that he had shed. For he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the LORD would not pardon.5 Now the rest of the deeds of Jehoiakim and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?6 So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.7 And the king of Egypt did not come again out of his land, for the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to the king of Egypt from the Brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates.
