대제사장이신 예수님의 영원한 희생제사(7-10장)로 성도가 얻게 된 두 가지(담력, 대제사장)와 행해야 할 세 가지(나아감, 굳게 잡음, 돌아봄)를 설명합니다.

성소에 들어갈 담력을 얻었다 

19그러므로 형제들아 우리가 예수의 피를 힘입어 성소에 들어갈 담력을 얻었나니 20그 길은 우리를 위하여 휘장 가운데로 열어 놓으신 새로운 살 길이요 휘장은 곧 그의 육체니라 21또 하나님의 집 다스리는 큰 제사장이 계시매

 하나님께 나아가자

22우리가 마음에 뿌림을 받아 악한 양심으로부터 벗어나고 몸은 맑은 물로 씻음을 받았으니 참 마음과 온전한 믿음으로 하나님께 나아가자

 개인의 삶 속에서 

23또 약속하신 이는 미쁘시니 우리가 믿는 도리의 소망을 움직이지 말며 굳게 잡고

 공동체의 삶 속에서 

24서로 돌아보아 사랑과 선행을 격려하며 25모이기를 폐하는 어떤 사람들의 습관과 같이 하지 말고 오직 권하여 그 날이 가까움을 볼수록 더욱 그리하자

[ Hebrews 10:19 - 10:25 ]

19Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. 

Who is God like?

Thinking & Understanding

We can broadly summarize what Jesus the high priest has done for us in two parts. First, Jesus opened a way for us to enter the Most Holy Place where God dwells by giving his own body as a sacrificial offering (vv. 19-20). Second, Jesus rules the house of God, God’s people, as the high priest. Therefore, we must go before God with firm faith and honest hearts. We must also firmly hold onto hope of the fulfilment of God’s promise to grant us perfect salvation and rest (vv. 21-23). The day of the fulfilment of this promise is drawing near. Therefore, the more difficult our reality, the more we must gather our strength and love and care for one another (vv. 24-25).  

Who is Jesus?

Vv. 19-21 Jesus is the pioneer and leader of the path to God. He created the path to God by the tearing of his own body and he now rules all those who walk down that path. Jesus did not just start salvation. He also fulfils it. 

What lesson is God teaching me?

Vv. 22-25 We must walk the path created by Jesus by faith, hope and love. We must believe that Jesus’ blood has made us clean, hope in God’s promised rest and love one another in order to walk to the end of this barren path. How is your faith, hope and love? 

Prayer

Lord, help me to walk down this path toward God by faith, hope and love.
