다니엘은 느부갓네살에게 꿈과 해석을 들려주기 전에 그 꿈과 해석을 알려 주신 분이 하나님이심을 분명히 밝힙니다. 

[ 다니엘 2:24 - 2:30 ] (찬송63장)

왕 앞에 서게 된 다니엘 

24이에 다니엘은 왕이 바벨론 지혜자들을 죽이라 명령한 아리옥에게로 가서 그에게 이같이 이르되 바벨론 지혜자들을 죽이지 말고 나를 왕의 앞으로 인도하라 그리하면 내가 그 해석을 왕께 알려 드리리라 하니 25이에 아리옥이 다니엘을 데리고 급히 왕 앞에 들어가서 아뢰되 내가 사로잡혀 온 유다 자손 중에서 한 사람을 찾아내었나이다 그가 그 해석을 왕께 알려 드리리이다 하니라

 은밀한 것을 나타내시는 하나님 

 26왕이 대답하여 벨드사살이라 이름한 다니엘에게 이르되 내가 꾼 꿈과 그 해석을 네가 능히 내게 알게 하겠느냐 하니 27다니엘이 왕 앞에 대답하여 이르되 왕이 물으신 바 은밀한 것은 지혜자나 술객이나 박수나 점쟁이가 능히 왕께 보일 수 없으되 28오직 은밀한 것을 나타내실 이는 하늘에 계신 하나님이시라 그가 느부갓네살 왕에게 후일에 될 일을 알게 하셨나이다 왕의 꿈 곧 왕이 침상에서 머리 속으로 받은 환상은 이러하니이다 29왕이여 왕이 침상에서 장래 일을 생각하실 때에 은밀한 것을 나타내시는 이가 장래 일을 왕에게 알게 하셨사오며 30내게 이 은밀한 것을 나타내심은 내 지혜가 모든 사람보다 낫기 때문이 아니라 오직 그 해석을 왕에게 알려서 왕이 마음으로 생각하던 것을 왕에게 알려 주려 하심이니이다

[ Daniel 2:24 - 2:30 ]

24Therefore Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said thus to him: “Do not destroy the wise men of Babylon; bring me in before the king, and I will show the king the interpretation.”25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste and said thus to him: “I have found among the exiles from Judah a man who will make known to the king the interpretation.”26 The king declared to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream that I have seen and its interpretation?”27 Daniel answered the king and said, “No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked,28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these:29 To you, O king, as you lay in bed came thoughts of what would be after this, and he who reveals mysteries made known to you what is to be.30 But as for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because of any wisdom that I have more than all the living, but in order that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your mind. 

Who is God like?

The meaning of the dream was hidden from the wise men of Babylon but revealed to Daniel because the dream was about events that were yet to come (vv. 29-30). As written in Isaiah 41:26-28 and 47:13, powerless idols cannot reveal anything about future days. Daniel confessed that he was able to interpret the king’s dream not because he was wiser or more talented than others but because it had been revealed to him by God (vv. 24-30).  

Who is God?

V. 28 God reveals concealed secrets. God sent us the Holy Spirit, who searches the depths of God (1 Cor. 2:10), so that we too can understand his secrets. Therefore, let’s trust in the plans and governance of God, who is behind all the events in this world, so that we are not shaken by the visible powers of this world. 

What lesson is God teaching me?

V. 25 God allows us to discover his works in a way that surpasses human imagination. The Babylonian king’s problem could not be solved by the erudite wise men of Babylon but by a captive prisoner of war. This teaches us that the weak people of God’s kingdom have more power than the powerful people of the world.

Lord, help me to become somebody who glorifies you and preaches your Word wherever and whenever.
