6:8 여호수아가 백성에게 이르기를 마치매 제사장 일곱은 양각 나팔 일곱을 잡고 여호와 앞에서 나아가며 나팔을 불고 여호와의 언약궤는 그 뒤를 따르며
9 그 무장한 자들은 나팔 부는 제사장들 앞에서 행진하며 후군은 궤 뒤를 따르고 제사장들은 나팔을 불며 행진하더라
10 여호수아가 백성에게 명령하여 이르되 너희는 외치지 말며 너희 음성을 들리게 하지 말며 너희 입에서 아무 말도 내지 말라 그리하다가 내가 너희에게 명령하여 외치라 하는 날에 외칠지니라 하고
11 여호와의 궤가 그 성을 한 번 돌게 하고 그들이 진영으로 들어와서 진영에서 자니라
12 또 여호수아가 아침에 일찍이 일어나니 제사장들이 여호와의 궤를 메고
13 제사장 일곱은 양각 나팔 일곱을 잡고 여호와의 궤 앞에서 계속 행진하며 나팔을 불고 무장한 자들은 그 앞에 행진하며 후군은 여호와의 궤 뒤를 따르고 제사장들은 나팔을 불며 행진하니라
14 그 둘째 날에도 그 성을 한 번 돌고 진영으로 돌아오니라 엿새 동안을 이같이 행하니라
15 일곱째 날 새벽에 그들이 일찍이 일어나서 전과 같은 방식으로 그 성을 일곱 번 도니 그 성을 일곱 번 돌기는 그 날뿐이었더라
16 일곱 번째에 제사장들이 나팔을 불 때에 여호수아가 백성에게 이르되 외치라 여호와께서 너희에게 이 성을 주셨느니라
17 이 성과 그 가운데에 있는 모든 것은 여호와께 온전히 바치되 기생 라합과 그 집에 동거하는 자는 모두 살려 주라 이는 우리가 보낸 사자들을 그가 숨겨 주었음이니라
18 너희는 온전히 바치고 그 바친 것 중에서 어떤 것이든지 취하여 너희가 이스라엘 진영으로 바치는 것이 되게 하여 고통을 당하게 되지 아니하도록 오직 너희는 그 바친 물건에 손대지 말라
19 은금과 동철 기구들은 다 여호와께 구별될 것이니 그것을 여호와의 곳간에 들일지니라 하니라
20 이에 백성은 외치고 제사장들은 나팔을 불매 백성이 나팔 소리를 들을 때에 크게 소리 질러 외치니 성벽이 무너져 내린지라 백성이 각기 앞으로 나아가 그 성에 들어가서 그 성을 점령하고
21 그 성 안에 있는 모든 것을 온전히 바치되 남녀 노소와 소와 양과 나귀를 칼날로 멸하니라
6:8 And just as Joshua had commanded the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the LORD went forward, blowing the trumpets, with the ark of the covenant of the LORD following them.
9 The armed men were walking before the priests who were blowing the trumpets, and the rear guard was walking after the ark, while the trumpets blew continually.
10 But Joshua commanded the people, “You shall not shout or make your voice heard, neither shall any word go out of your mouth, until the day I tell you to shout. Then you shall shout.”
11 So he caused the ark of the LORD to circle the city, going about it once. And they came into the camp and spent the night in the camp.
12 Then Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
13 And the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD walked on, and they blew the trumpets continually. And the armed men were walking before them, and the rear guard was walking after the ark of the LORD, while the trumpets blew continually.
14 And the second day they marched around the city once, and returned into the camp. So they did for six days.
15 On the seventh day they rose early, at the dawn of day, and marched around the city in the same manner seven times. It was only on that day that they marched around the city seven times.
16 And at the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout, for the LORD has given you the city.
17 And the city and all that is within it shall be devoted to the LORD for destruction. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall live, because she hid the messengers whom we sent.
18 But you, keep yourselves from the things devoted to destruction, lest when you have devoted them you take any of the devoted things and make the camp of Israel a thing for destruction and bring trouble upon it.
19 But all silver and gold, and every vessel of bronze and iron, are holy to the LORD; they shall go into the treasury of the LORD.”
20 So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they captured the city.
21 Then they devoted all in the city to destruction, both men and women, young and old, oxen, sheep, and donkeys, with the edge of the sword.


출애굽기 12:48 (개역개정/ESV)

12:48 너희와 함께 거류하는 타국인이 여호와의 유월절을 지키고자 하거든 그 모든 남자는 할례를 받은 후에야 가까이 하여 지킬지니 곧 그는 본토인과 같이 될 것이나 할례 받지 못한 자는 먹지 못할 것이니라
12:48 If a stranger shall sojourn with you and would keep the Passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised. Then he may come near and keep it; he shall be as a native of the land. But no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.

5:13 여호수아가 여리고에 가까이 이르렀을 때에 눈을 들어 본즉 한 사람이 칼을 빼어 손에 들고 마주 서 있는지라 여호수아가 나아가서 그에게 묻되 너는 우리를 위하느냐 우리의 적들을 위하느냐 하니
14 그가 이르되 아니라 나는 여호와의 군대 대장으로 지금 왔느니라 하는지라 여호수아가 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드려 절하고 그에게 이르되 내 주여 종에게 무슨 말씀을 하려 하시나이까
15 여호와의 군대 대장이 여호수아에게 이르되 네 발에서 신을 벗으라 네가 선 곳은 거룩하니라 하니 여호수아가 그대로 행하니라
5:13 When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing before him with his drawn sword in his hand. And Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?”
14 And he said, “No; but I am the commander of the army of the LORD. Now I have come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and said to him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”
15 And the commander of the LORD's army said to Joshua, “Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.


여호수아 4:24 (개역개정/ESV)

4:24 이는 땅의 모든 백성에게 여호와의 손이 강하신 것을 알게 하며 너희가 너희의 하나님 여호와를 항상 경외하게 하려 하심이라 하라
4:24 so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the LORD is mighty, that you may fear the LORD your God forever.”


여호수아 2:8-11 (개역개정/ESV)

2:8 또 그들이 눕기 전에 라합이 지붕에 올라가서 그들에게 이르러
9 말하되 여호와께서 이 땅을 너희에게 주신 줄을 내가 아노라 우리가 너희를 심히 두려워하고 이 땅 주민들이 다 너희 앞에서 간담이 녹나니
10 이는 너희가 애굽에서 나올 때에 여호와께서 너희 앞에서 홍해 물을 마르게 하신 일과 너희가 요단 저쪽에 있는 아모리 사람의 두 왕 시혼과 옥에게 행한 일 곧 그들을 전멸시킨 일을 우리가 들었음이니라
11 우리가 듣자 곧 마음이 녹았고 너희로 말미암아 사람이 정신을 잃었나니 너희의 하나님 여호와는 위로는 하늘에서도 아래로는 땅에서도 하나님이시니라
2:8 Before the men lay down, she came up to them on the roof
9 and said to the men, “I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you.
10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you devoted to destruction.
11 And as soon as we heard it, our hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in any man because of you, for the LORD your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.


여호수아 5:1 (개역개정/ESV)

5:1 요단 서쪽의 아모리 사람의 모든 왕들과 해변의 가나안 사람의 모든 왕들이 여호와께서 요단 물을 이스라엘 자손들 앞에서 말리시고 우리를 건너게 하셨음을 듣고 마음이 녹았고 이스라엘 자손들 때문에 정신을 잃었더라
5:1 As soon as all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan for the people of Israel until they had crossed over, their hearts melted and there was no longer any spirit in them because of the people of Israel.


사무엘상 17:45-47 (개역개정/ESV)

17:45 다윗이 블레셋 사람에게 이르되 너는 칼과 창과 단창으로 내게 나아 오거니와 나는 만군의 여호와의 이름 곧 네가 모욕하는 이스라엘 군대의 하나님의 이름으로 네게 나아가노라
46 오늘 여호와께서 너를 내 손에 넘기시리니 내가 너를 쳐서 네 목을 베고 블레셋 군대의 시체를 오늘 공중의 새와 땅의 들짐승에게 주어 온 땅으로 이스라엘에 하나님이 계신 줄 알게 하겠고
47 또 여호와의 구원하심이 칼과 창에 있지 아니함을 이 무리에게 알게 하리라 전쟁은 여호와께 속한 것인즉 그가 너희를 우리 손에 넘기시리라
17:45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,
47 and that all this assembly may know that the LORD saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hand.”
